But as England played Sweden in the World Cup on Saturday, the roads were eerily quiet.
Around 15 minutes before the end of the game, there was little traffic on the A338 Wessex Way or Richmond Hill.
Bournemouth town centre, though, remained as busy as ever as shoppers enjoyed summer sales.
