Earth Wind & Fire returned once again to the Bournemouth International Centre in fantastic fashion.
The band still includes three of its original members - Ralph Johnson, Philip Bailey and Verdine White on bass, percussion and vocals.
With a brilliant backdrop and glittery costumes, the 12 piece band were dressed to impress and looked as good as they sounded.
They opened their 90 minute set with classics such as ‘Sing a Song’, ‘Shining Star’ and ‘Serpentine Fire’ had the entire crowd up and on their feet early on.
After an energetic start, the band slowed the pace and settled into a more relaxed and romantic tone allowing the crowd to catch their breath before performing the instantly recognisable ‘Boogie Wonderland’ and ‘Let's Groove’.
After watching Earth Wind & Fire you can instantly understand why they have successfully navigated the music industry for more than 40 years, not only for the countless classics but for the energy and enthusiasm they brought to us from the stage.
At the end of a funk filled night, you can’t help but appreciate the absolute musical genius of this band and I know I won’t be the only person already looking forward to their return.
