THE BBC'S flagship morning news programme will be broadcast live from the atrium at Royal Bournemouth Hospital on June 25, it has been revealed.

Radio 4's Today programme - widely seen as setting the day's news agenda - asked RBCH if it could visit after showing interest in the technical innovation at the hospital, including cutting-edge heart treatments.

Chief executive Tony Spotswood said he welcomed the chance for more people to learn about the work at the hospital which has just been rated 'Good' by inspectors from the Care Quality Commission.

He understands the broadcast may be part of the BBC's commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the NHS.

"We have some staff members attending the service at Westminster Abbey for NHS workers and this will be a great chance to show off what we are doing here," he said.
