A BURGLAR who raided Poole's branch of Halfords has been jailed.
Homeless Peter Mullins broke into the High Street store on May 4 and stole a mountain bike, three sat nav systems and £1,391.37 in cash.
On May 11, the 41-year-old was sentenced to a community order for an unrelated burglary at Sainsbury's in South Street, Wareham, which was committed on April 5, and criminal damage to the window and door of the Co-op in Sandford on May 10.
But on May 16, just days after being sentenced, Mullins stole boxer shorts worth £7 from Primark in Bournemouth.
He returned to Poole Magistrates' Court on May 18 to be sentenced for the theft and the burglary at Halfords. He has now been sentenced to a total of 20 weeks in prison after magistrates took into account his previous record and his "flagrant disregard for court orders".
