THE Borough of Poole's (BOP) refreshed housing strategy is on the agenda for endorsement at full council.

This document sets out how the authority will meet the future housing needs of communities.

Refreshed priorities in the plan include:

BLOB Increasing the supply of homes to best meet local needs, including affordable housing.

BLOB Ensuring the council's housing stock is managed efficiently, safely and effectively.

BLOB Continue to influence improvements in the private sector including enforcement action.

BLOB Supporting area specific regeneration plans across the borough.

BLOB Preventing homelessness and rough sleeping.

BLOB Improving health and wellbeing through housing.

Writing the forward of the strategy, BOP portfolio holder for housing Cllr Karen Rampton said: "Housing is a crucial component of wellbeing.

"Good quality housing, which meets an individual's or family's needs, provides a sound platform to build a good quality of life."

Poole councillors are being asked to endorse the refreshed housing strategy at the Civic Centre meeting, which starts at 7pm, this evening. (April 24)
