ROADSIDE verges will blossom into colourful meadows later this year as wildflower seeds are sown. Poole council has been preparing areas for the floral displays across the borough. "You may notice some bare areas in the verges at the sides of roads - this is where the vegetation has been cleared to provide bare ground for the meadow seeds. Keep watching as the seeds develop into colourful meadows later this year," a council spokesperson said. Among the areas being planted are the junction of Ringwood Road and Wallisdown Road in Alderney, the junction of Alder Road and Yarmouth Road in Branksome West, and Hatch Pond Road in Canford Heath West. Parts of Creekmoor, Hamworthy West, Parkstone, Merley, Bearwood, and Poole town centre will also have wildflower patches.
