A SPECIAL event in memory of a young man who was killed in a motorbike crash will be held on Sunday.

David Pilbro, 17, died in the crash on the A31 near Wimborne last October. It would have been his 18th birthday on Sunday, his father Sean said.

His devastated family paid tribute to the popular teenager, saying "he will be in our hearts forever."

On Sunday, an event organised by UK Bikers will take place in his memory.

It will raise money for Dorset Doc Bike, the UK's first road based trauma doctor on a motorbike.

The initiative was launched by Dorset PC Chris Smith and Dr Ian Mew, an intensive care and air ambulance doctor.

The event on Sunday will take place at Sammy Millers motorcycle museum.

And there will be a special rideout from Holes Bay in Poole at 10am, to the museum.

Entry is £5 and includes a wristband and raffle ticket.

There will be stalls, emergency vehicles, food and refreshments and more.

Entry is free for children. It will take place between 11am and 3pm.
