WORK will take place on the A338 Spur Road and at Blackwater Junction this week.

There will be temporary three-way signals on the B3073 at Blackwater East Junction on Tuesday and Wednesday night.

The lights will be in place while surfacing of the new junction takes place.

The work will continue on Thursday and Friday night with the A338 slip roads closed between 8pm and 6am.

Southbound traffic on the A338 will not be able to exit the road to Christchurch while southbound traffic from the B3073 will be unable to access the A338.

Traffic will still be able to use the B3073.

The Blackwater West junction will not be affected by the works.

Diversion routes will be signed and the junction will be fully open during the day.

There will also be works at Blackwater Junction between Tuesday and Friday with daytime off-peak and night-time lane closures both south and northbound on the A338.

There will be no lane closures between 7am and 9.30am and between 3.30pm and 7.30pm.

A spokesperson for Dorset County Council said, “investigatory works” are planned for the improvements to the slip road in the verge and central reservation.
