I'D like to point out to motorists that 'short broken white lines' when entering a main road from a slip road are 'give way lines' not 'get out of my way' lines.

Almost daily on Upton bypass, Dorset Way, Wessex Way and the Spur Road I'm having to stand on my brakes as someone has just driven straight onto the main carriageway without even looking to see if there's a gap, let alone doing a speed whereby they could 'merge'.

I try to move over if possible, or slow right down at slip roads whereas too many motorists just barrel forwards and expect existing traffic to vanish into thin air.

Too frequently they are on their mobiles or in deep conversation. Very dangerous and inconsiderate!
