GREEN-FINGERED volunteers are being sought to help out with a number of roles at the Knoll Gardens Foundation.

The organisation, based in Wimborne and promotes a sustainable, wildlife-friendly gardening style, is hosting an open day on Friday, May 4 to find new helpers for tasks including labelling plants, meeting and greeting visitors, fundraising and education support for initiatives such as the monthly toddler club Bugs and Buds.

Peter Gear, Chairman of Trustees, said, “We already have a number of wonderful volunteers who share our enthusiasm for wildlife-friendly gardens. Now we want to meet like-minded people who are interested in joining our team. This special open day is a great opportunity for garden lovers to understand more about what the charity does and how they can get involved.

"Foundation volunteers will be in the garden from 10 - 2pm to talk about their role, and explain more about the ethos of the garden. There will also be an opportunity to talk to Trustees about the volunteering opportunities currently available.

Knoll Gardens is located in Hampreston Lane between Wimborne and Ferndown. The volunteer recruitment day runs from 10am to 2pm on Friday, May 4 and admission is free.
