THE NHS will be 70 years young this summer and the Royal Bournemouth Hospital wants local children to help design a birthday card to celebrate.

Children aged 11 and under are being asked to draw an A4 sized picture which shows how the NHS has helped them or a friend or relative.

Jenny House, a senior nurse at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital who has been a nurse for 50 years, will be helping to pick the winning entries.

“We really want local children to get involved in this competition which will help celebrate the institution that has changed millions of peoples’ lives for the better," she said.

“There are some fantastic prizes for the winning entries, including tickets for Paultons Park, so we’re hoping for lots of children to get involved.”

Pictures can be scanned and emailed to communications@rbch.nhs.uk or sent to ‘Schools Competition’, Communications Department, Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Castle Lane East, Bournemouth, BH7 7DW. Entries need to include the child’s name, age, school/nursery and their parent’s/guardian’s telephone number and email address on the back plus a line or two about what the picture shows. Entries must be received by May 30 2018.
