AN ELDERLY man is due to appear before the courts for an offence of causing the death of a Mudeford woman by careless driving
Pat Ashman, who lived at Avon Reach Care Home, died on Friday, October 13 2017. The 85-year-old had been out for her daily walk when she was allegedly involved in a collision with a BMW at around 2.30pm.
A 93-year-old man from Barnet in Hertfordshire has been issued with a postal requisition to appear before Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 9.
Mrs Ashman moved into Avon Reach in the summer of 2016 from her former home in Friar's Cliff.
Care home manager Ruth Wildman said Mrs Ashman was a "lovely lady and very popular".
“The staff here were very attached to her and she had a lot of friends," she said.
Flowers were left at the scene. A card attached to one bouquet read: "A true lady."
