FIREFIGHTERS have been tackling a fire at a property in Bournemouth.

The fire broke out in a first-floor bedroom cupboard at a residential property in West Cliff Road and was reported at 3.14am.

Crews from Springbourne, Redhill Park attended along with one pump and an aerial ladder from Westbourne.

On arrival, the crews requested a further three pumps to assist for breathing apparatus.

Two pumps from Poole attended along with a crew from Christchurch.

A further two pumps were then requested and attended from Ferndown and Redbridge.

It was extinguished using four breathing apparatus and two main lines.

The crews also assisted with further manual evacuation of the building.

At 4:09am the incident was scaled back to four pumps.

Police and Bournemouth Council also attended the scene.

One pump from Westbourne remains on scene.
