EMERGENCY support was needed after a house fire in Southbourne on Christmas Day.

Fire crews were called to Beaufort Road in Southbourne at 2.50pm and found the property "well alight", a spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

Two further crews were called for, along with the aerial ladder platform.

The fire on the first floor was extinguished using eight breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one main line.

The spokesperson added: "All persons were accounted for and the utilities were isolated.

"The British Red Cross Emergency Response vehicle from Springbourne also attended to provide support for the occupants of the property."
