TRAFFIC built up in both directions on the A31 due to separate incidents at similar locations on Wednesday evening.
The road was partially blocked eastbound at Stoney Cross because of a crash, and also westbound due to a broken down vehicle.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: "We are on the scene at the eastbound carriageway dealing with a two vehicle RTI. Recovery has been requested."
Only "very minor" injuries were sustained in the crash.
Hampshire Fire and Rescure Service crews from Romsey and Totton were called to the scene, along with paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service.

This included two incidents near Picket Post and Bratley Arch.
The road was completely cleared in both directions around 10pm.
