RESIDENTS in New Milton are set to lose their local branch of NatWest bank today.
Following a report by the Bournemouth Echo on the newly announced closure back in March, the branch’s final transaction will take place on today.
NatWest has seen a drastic change in the way people bank in recent years; The number of in-branch transactions has fallen by 43 per-cent since 2010, with usage of mobile and online banking services seeing a surge of 400 per-cent within the last seven years.
Ferndown's branch also closed last week.
NatWest has offered their users alternative banking solutions once the branch closes, citing they can perform a variety of banking activities, such as depositing and withdrawing cash at their local participating Post Office.
The nearest branches are Castlepoint, Ringwood, Christchurch and Wimborne.
