A LABOUR party delegate from Bournemouth has been wheeled off stage at the Labour party conference after fainting while speaking out against the closure of Poole Hospital's A&E, maternity and paediatrics units.

Hazel Malcolm-Walker, from Bournemouth West, fell to the ground live on TV after calling for the party to take an emergency motion on the controversial decision at the conference in Brighton.

As reported NHS Dorset CCG last week decided to close Poole A&E, maternity and paediatrics unit as part of plans to make Poole Hospital a site for planned care, with Royal Bournemouth Hospital the major emergency hospital for the east of the county.

Mrs Malcolm-Walker began to say she was ‘not feeling too good’ as she collapsed by the podium - prompting gasps from those in the hall.

Paramedics arrived within a minute and attended to the lady, who was then taken off stage in a wheelchair waving as delegates applauded.
