A MAN has been arrested following a burglary at an elderly woman’s home in Christchurch.
Aged in her 80s, the victim was restrained with cable ties while her Oak Avenue home was ransacked on the morning of Wednesday, February 1.
Cash and jewellery were stolen, and the woman was left tied to the chair.
Fortunately she was able to free herself and contact police. She suffered bruising during the ordeal.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Following extensive enquiries, a 38-year-old Christchurch man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and has been released under investigation.”
