Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a series of thefts from vehicles in Poole.
Daniel Philip Upson, 42, of no fixed abode, is wanted in connection with nine break ins to vehicles in the Canford Cliffs area since March.
He is described as white, of slim build, around five feet 11 inches tall and with brown hair and a beard.
Police Sergeant Adrian Thompson, of Poole police, said: “We have made a number of enquiries in an attempt to locate Upson and I am releasing his photo in the hope that someone will know of his whereabouts.”
Officers are increasing patrols in the area and have issued advice to residents on how to protect their vehicles from crime.
Tips include:
Leave your car locked at all times, even when it is in a secure driveway
Never leave valuable items in your car
Be aware of indicators that alert thieves to the fact your car is open – many modern cars have electric wing mirrors that retract when the doors are locked
Don’t leave cycle racks on your car as they indicate you may have a bicycle worth stealing
Report any suspicious activity around your vehicle or other vehicles, particularly late at night
Use sensor lights on your driveway if possible with a sensor on your vehicle
