TALENTED actor Thomas Spiers has won a place on a summer school at the prestigious National Youth Theatre in London.

Thomas, who is 18 and from Parkstone, has been a student with Stagewise Performing Arts for the last 10 years.

He is taking part in a three-week residential course with the National Youth Theatre this summer and will remain a member with them until he is 25, gaining access to a range of professional training and performance opportunities.

Ally Cox, principal of Stagewise, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to hear that Thomas has been offered a place at the National Youth Theatre - it is an amazing achievement.

"At Stagewise we’ve watched him develop into a confident and talented performer over the years and will be wishing him every success on his exciting new journey."

Thomas becomes the sixth Stagewise student to go on to the National Youth Theatre and takes with him a host of performance experience including roles as Miss Trunchbull in Matilda, Eugene in Grease, Gus the Theatre Cat in Cats and the butler in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
