SOME political groups from Poole council may not be represented if the proposals to merge Dorset's councils go ahead.
The local government reorganisation proposal, which would see Dorset’s nine councils reformed into two new unitary authorities, was submitted to Secretary of State Sajid Javid for a decision in March.
The six councils behind Future Dorset have begun discussions for setting up two joint committees, each with membership from those authorities which would make up the new unitary, including Borough of Poole.
For Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole the committee would be made up of eight Bournemouth councillors, six from Poole and two from Christchurch.
Currently Christchurch has rejected the scheme - and if this is not overturned the borough would be represented by members from Dorset County Council.
In a report to Poole's cabinet tonight it explains that the six members from Poole would be made up of five members from the Conservative group and one from the Liberal Democrats.
Under this scheme the Poole People, Independent and UKIP members on the council will be unrepresented on the committee.
