HE’S the biggest name there has ever been in film music.

John Williams is the subject of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s first Investec Proms in the Park concert of this year on Friday, August 11.

And if you have fond memories of the films he’s scored or the music he’s written, we’d like to hear from you. It may even be that you have a lucky connection with the movies themselves.

John Williams, who celebrated his 85th birthday earlier this year, has scored a long list of the most successful films ever made.

He composed the music for eight Star Wars films (including The Last Jedi, due for release in December), four Indiana Jones films, three of the Harry Potters and two Home Alones.

His 43-year collaboration with director Steven Spielberg has included Jaws, E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the Indiana Jones series, Schindler’s List, War Horse and Lincoln.

Other successes have included The Towering Inferno, Earthquake, The Poseidon Adventure, The Fury, Far and Away, JFK and Born on the Fourth of July.

He has earned four Oscars as composer – for Jaws, Star Wars, E.T. and Schindler’s List – as well as one for arranging and conducting the music to Fiddler on the Roof.

We’d love you to share your memories of John Williams’ incredible career.
