MOTORISTS are being urged to watch out for cyclists on Sunday, as the Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride takes place.

Hundreds of cyclists are expected to take part in the ride on Sunday from Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground.

It is the 29th Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride, with places still available for people to enter.

There are a number of different routes, including 100 miles, 60, 48, 38, 25 and 10 miles.

The route will leave between 8am and 10am and head towards Wimborne and then return throughout the day via Lytchett Matravers.

Drivers are being asked to be vigilant as cyclists cross the main roads, especially on the A31 at Almer and Red Post near Bere Regis, as well as the A350 at Lytchett Matravers.

Ride organiser, Peter Smith-Nicholls, said: “We have received some fantastic support from Sunseeker International and all of our sponsors this year so all the money raised in entry fees, donations and sponsorship will go to support people living with cancer.

"Anyone is welcome to Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground throughout the day where representatives from Macmillan Cancer Support will be on hand to give advice and information."
