The Poole Festival of Running will be held over two days for the first time ever this weekend. The Poole Hospital 5k event starts at 5pm on the Saturday with the 10k race taking place at 10.30am on Sunday. The event organised by Poole Runners, now in its 36th year, includes five kids’ ‘minithons’ for children up to 14 years old. There will be some limited entries available for the 10K and minithons (the 5k has sold out), in person at the admin tent in Poole Park. The admin tent is open from 2pm-7pm Saturday and from 8am Sunday.

Calling all foodies! The Bransgore Food Festival takes place at The Three Tuns Inn on Saturday, June 3. There will be live music, chef demos, a hog roast, morris dancing and even an egg and spoon race. The fun starts at 12noon. 

Petfest returns to Highcliffe Castle on Sunday. The castle grounds will be packed with pooches, with visitors enjoying a dog show, talks, competitions, and a petting zoo. Entry to the event, which takes place between 10.30am and 4pm, costs £1. Organisers are asking people to park at the Cliffhanger or Friars Cliff car park. 

It's New Milton Summer Carnival on Saturday. The events kicks off with a parade through the town starting from Station Road North at 11am before it arrives at Recreation Ground at 11.45am. Then from 12pm until 5pm, there will be a fun dog show, a circus workshop, funfair, live entertainment and stalls, plus a BBQ, bar and other refreshments. 

A family summer fair will take place in the grounds of the Savoy Hotel on Saturday, June 3 between 12noon and 4pm. The free event, hosted by the Rotary club of Westbourne, will feature stalls, games, live entertainment and an animal corner.

A sale of second-hand clothes and equipment for babies and children will take place at the Broadstone Methodist Church in Lower Blandford Road on Saturday, June 3 from 2pm until 3.30pm. Admission is £1. Proceeds will be donated to Poole Hospital charity SPRING.

The grounds at Furzehill Farm in Fordingbridge will open for the National Gardens Scheme on Sunday, June 4 and Sunday, June 11 between 1pm and 5pm. The gardens, set over three acres, include an oak coppice, vegetable plots and areas for wildlife. Admission is £4.50.
