TWO men were arrested after a reported road rage incident in which a man was threatened with a gun.

Officers were called at 7.46pm on Wednesday evening after reports that a man had been threatened with a gun in Bournemouth.

It is alleged a firearm was pulled out during the altercation at St Paul’s Road before a car was abandoned.

The victim was not injured in the incident and it is not believed that the offenders and victim were known to each other.

With the help of the NPAS helicopter, armed officers then searched the nearby area for the offending vehicle - believed to be a black Audi - which was found at an address in Southcote Road.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

They are currently helping the police with their enquiries.

Officers have been searching a property in the road in connection with their investigation.

Joel Smith, director of Performance Car Centre, told the Daily Echo that he and his colleagues were shut in their workshop as armed officers turned up on Wednesday evening.

He said they saw three men get out of a black Audi and enter the house.

Officers arrived with the dog unit and began searching the premises.

Mr Smith said he saw a man try to escape the property by one of the top rear windows when he was faced by an armed officer holding up a gun.

“They blocked the drive and brought in the armed police along with the dog because people were coming out of the back of the house,” he said.

“We got told to stop here until they’d finished.

“That was about 10.30pm.”

Dozens of people took to social media to report the police activity around Springbourne.
