A bed and breakfast in Highcliffe could be demolished to make way for flats.
Plans for the Rothesay Hotel on Lymington Road have been submitted to Christchurch Borough Council.
It could see the family run accommodation pulled down and replaced with 20 flats.
The scheme would see two blocks built, with 17 flats on three floors in the main block and three apartments across three floors in the second block.
There would be 20 parking spaces on site as well.
The applicant is Hallam Stewart Ltd, based in Liverpool.
