A ROAD near Verwood has been closed following a crash between a car and a coach.

Police have shut the B3081 Ringwood Road between Baker's Hanging and Ebblake, near the cemetery, after a Laguna coach was involved in a crash with a blue Mercedes A-Class.

A spokesperson from Laguna Travel said there were no passengers on board the coach and the driver is out of the vehicle, uninjured and liaising with police. 

Paramedics and the fire service are also at the scene. 

The female driver of the Mercedes was cut out of her car by firefighters and has been taken to hospital.
