I TRUST that Bournemouth council has now fully read and digested the call from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence to do away with speed bumps, ironically called “cushions”, in order to reduce pollution.
In addition to causing unnecessary pollution they also cause damage to suspensions and particularly the inside walls of tyres which can produce disastrous consequences.
Bournemouth council is obsessed with speed cushions – there are far more per mile than in Poole and they are difficult to find in Christchurch. I look forward to reading the council’s programme for getting rid of them.
