SO Poole council are considering a much smaller scale extension to the pay and display scheme for Hamworthy Park, Lake Pier and other places.
All this after the last consultation process produced a resounding “We don’t want it” from residents.
What part of this do they not understand? They produce gobbledygook about “traffic management” and “future demand” when we all know it’s about the revenue to be collected from the scheme.
No doubt the full time officers of the council keep revising this issue in order to obtain the revenue this will generate and therefore put pressure on the councillors to get it adopted.
However the councillors must remember they are elected and should take note of what the electorate say and want.
To do otherwise will prove to be foolhardy come the next council elections.
