Cyclists will be able to ride along the prom during the day from tomorrow.

Each year during July and August, annual restrictions mean there's no cycling on the prom between 10am and 6pm.

The zig zags and access slopes from West Overcliff and East Cliff remain off limits to cyclists but they are allowed to cycle through Pier Approach all year round.

Bournemouth council say cycling on the seafront between 10am and 6pm during July and August could lead to prosecution under the bylaw in respect of Seashore, Promenade and Cliffs 1986.

However, dog owners still won't be allowed to walk their pets on some beaches until the end of the month.

Regulations which came into effect on May 1 mean a number of beaches remain off limits to dogs until Friday, September 30.

In Poole, this includes Sandbanks, Shore Road, Canford Cliffs and Branksome Chine.

Dog walkers are urged to keep their dogs on leads and use the designated dog beaches at Branksome Chine and at the western end of Sandbanks.

In Bournemouth, dogs are currently only allowed to the west of Durley Chine and east of Fisherman's Walk up to Hengistbury Head.

In Christchurch, no dogs are allowed on Avon Beach, Friars Cliff Beach and Highcliffe Beach between Groynes H4 and H8.

Dogs are allowed between the wave wall at end of Friars Cliff Beach and Groyne H4 at Highcliffe Beach, Mudeford Sandbank and Gundimore Beach.

In Swanage, no dogs are allowed on the beaches until 30 September on the main beach, but dog walking is allowed elsewhere all year.
