POLICE have been called to a fallen tree on the A31. 

Officers were called close to the Merley Roundabout at 9.06am this morning after a large tree blocked off both lanes.

Traffic – managed by a single officer – was diverted around the tree seeing delays build up in the area.

Westbound delays are reported back to the Canford Bottom roundabout and along Wimborne Road West and Merley House Lane.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We are at the scene with one officer. Most of the tree has been removed and we’re just waiting for Highways to remove it.”
