A WOMAN has organised a Poole Harbour cruise for members of the public, with all proceeds going to the family of Bournemouth teenager Jack Gudge.
Joanne Bateman, who runs Quayside Emporium, has partnered up with City Cruises for the fundraising event on Saturday.
Her son was friends with 17-year-old Jack who was killed near Tesco Express in Wimborne Road, Winton, on Saturday, July 16.
She said: “I don’t think any of us can imagine what Jack’s mother is going through. My son was with Jack on Saturday and it could have been him.
“I want to help make the family’s lives easier by raising money for the funeral costs.
“Several businesses have donated towards a big raffle for the cruise. There will also be cream teas and high teas for two.”
Tickets cost a £5 minimum donation and are available from Quayside Emporium.
Passengers will board at 7pm on Saturday. The cruise sets off at 7.30pm and returns at 8.30pm.
