A BOURNEMOUTH petrol station has closed after a car pulled away from the forecourt – without replacing the nozzle.
Eye witnesses said an Audi driver got back into his vehicle after filling the tank at Tesco Extra in Riverside Avenue and drove away.
However, he had failed to remove the nozzle from car.
As he moved off, the entire pump tipped on its side, flooding the forecourt with fuel.
A spokesperson from the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Fuel was leaking onto the forecourt, so a crew from Christchurch have attended to help with the clear-up.
“All cars have been moved off and the forecourt has been closed.”
Firefighters were called shortly before 6pm yesterday.
