POLICE have renewed their appeal for the public's help to find a man who has been missing for three days.

David Horsford, 67, left his home in Samson Road, Poole, at around 7.30am on Saturday, after telling his family he was going for a short walk.

He has not been seen or heard from since.

David is white, five feet eleven inches tall, of slim build and was wearing a black Berghaus jacket and green Craghopper trousers.

The NPAS helicopter and marine section assisted local officers with the search in the Hamworthy and Poole Harbour area on Saturday.

Today officers are searching the Purbeck area, in particular Kimmeridge and Durdle Door

Inspector Neil Wright, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been searching different parts of Dorset over the last three days in a bid to find David.

“I understand that David has not been in the right frame of mind recently but for him to have not returned home is completely out of character.

“I would urge anyone who knows where David is or has seen a man matching his description to please call Dorset Police immediately so we can send officers to make enquiries.

“We have issued a photo of David but he has lost some weight since it was taken.”

In a statement, David’s family said: “We would like to thank those people who have already called the police with information.

“We are appealing to the public to please take a minute to look at David’s photo and keep a watch for him. We just want to find him safe and well.”

Anyone with any information on David’s whereabouts should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 16:145.
