POLICE were called to the scene of a crash after a car crashed into a Chinese takeaway.
Ming Fu-Li, owner of Li’s on Wimborne Road, said staff living above the shop were awoken with a loud bang and felt the building “shaking”, early on Sunday.
He said they called to tell him a car had ploughed into the shopfront and they saw a large man, aged between 30-35 with short hair, running from the scene.
Neighbours also rushed to their aid, Mr Fu-Li said, claiming the bang they’d heard was so loud they feared someone had died.
Mr Fu-Li said he will have to wait to receive quotes for the work before he can assess the full financial impact on his business. He does not yet know when they will be trading.
A Dorset Police spokesman said they could not confirm the suspected driver’s description, adding: “We were called at 3.36am on Sunday to reports of a collision involving an Audi A6 which collided with the Chinese takeaway.
"Officers discovered the vehicle was unoccupied.
"An investigation is now underway and no arrests have been made.”
Anyone with information should call 101 quoting 3:65.
