PART of Bournemouth promenade has been cordoned off after a landslip at Southbourne.
It is thought to have been caused by the heavy rain earlier this week.
A small section of the walkway between the Fisherman’s Walk zig zag and Gordon Steps has been shut.
The area was closed off on Wednesday.
A sign at the cordon says: “Prom closed due to landslide. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you.”
A spokesperson for Bournemouth Council said: "As a result of the recent heavy rain a landslip has occurred close to Gordon steps zig-zag.
"We are currently assessing the extent of the damage. The surrounding promenade in that area is closed and will stay closed until we are sure that there is no risk of further landslips in this area.
"We ask members of the public to take extra care along the seafront and respect the closure, which is in place for their own safety."
