A POPULAR all you can eat Chinese restaurant is set to open a new premises at Poole's Tower Park.

Day's Restaurant, which has a branch in Bournemouth town centre, should be open for business at the Poole retail complex later this springtime, it has been announced.

They'll be taking over the vacant Georgie Porgies Buffet World site, which closed in November 2013.

While staff at Bournemouth's Day's Restaurant remained tight-lipped about their new Poole venture, the Daily Echo understands it is set for either a March or an April opening.

Tower Park shopper Annette Phillip, told the Echo: "I think this will be a good thing for Tower Park. Day's has a good reputation for buffet food in Bournemouth, they can really pack them in.

"I'm looking forward to the restaurant being up and running here."

Meanwhile, another shopper - a mum of two young children - said: "This is the perfect replacement for Georgie Porgies, which used to be a favourite with families.

"There's room for buffet restaurants like this, especially at out of town leisure parks like this one. People want good choice that doesn't cost an arm and a leg."

A sign posted on the door of the Tower Park premises stated: "Day's Restaurant coming soon to Tower Park Poole. Eat as much as you like."

Another sign read: "Notice is given that Mr Liang Hong has applied to Borough of Poole Licensing Authority for a Premises or Club Premises Certificate under the Licensing Act."

Live music and alcohol will be available under terms of the licence.

The Poole restaurant will open Monday to Friday, 11am-10.30pm, Friday and Saturday, 11am-11pm, and Sunday 11am-10.30pm.

Day's Restaurant promises to serve vegetarian dishes, curry, Thai food, sushi, BBQ, tandoori, pizza and more.
