ROADS in Dorset were closed on Monday morning as flooding caused delays for drivers across the county.

Following a night of heavy rain in Dorset, with a weather warning issued by the Met Office, several roads were closed.

The A35 at Bloxworth was flooded, with temporary traffic lights put on both ways to manage the queues.

And at Lytchett Minster, the B3067 Dorchester Road was also closed due to flooding between the Bakers Arms roundabout and Post Green Road.

Drivers were also asked to take care on the A352 between Winfrith and Wool, with the B3159 between Winterbourne and the A35 also difficult to pass.

Later in the morning, the Hurn roundabout was partially blocked due to flooding as well.

Buses were delayed on the A35 as a result, with a flood warning issued by the Environment Agency for Christchurch Harbour.

A flood alert was also issued for Poole Harbour including Wareham.

Rail users were delayed for around 20 minutes on South West Trains between Eastleigh and Fareham due to electrical supply problems and flooding.
