COUNCILLORS in Ringwood are set to discuss Dorset County Council's plans to partially close the Ashley Heath roundabout at the full town council meeting on Wednesday.
Ringwood Town Council will decide if it wishes to make representations, on the town's behalf, about the planned partial-closure of the roundabout in January.
That's when phase two starts, part of the Ashley Heath roundabout will be closed and all the traffic will have to filter on to the Spur Road from the west - that means that if you're coming from Ferndown or Ashley Heath you'll need to go go to Ringwood and turn round.
Bournemouth-bound traffic coming from the west diverted down the A31 and around the Ringwood roundabout to rejoin westbound A31 traffic.
The closure is set to begin on January 4, and traffic coming from the A31 heading towards Bournemouth will be slowed to 50mph.
Traffic heading west towards the A338 will go from two lanes to just one lane as the left-hand lane is used for works access.
More details on that here.
It's not yet clear whether the contaflow will remain in place along the whole of the road during this phase (which only focuses on the top mile of the carriageway) or whether southbound traffic will be able to use the new carriageway. We'll keep you updated.
