BURGLARS stole jewellery from the home of an elderly woman during a raid on her home in Christchurch.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information after a break-in at the victim's house in Highcliffe.

The incident at the home in Roeshot Crescent took place between 7am on Friday, December 4 and 6.30pm on Sunday, December 6.

The offenders broke into the property and took two small gold-coloured ladies watches, two gold-coloured seven inch bracelets and a seven inch three-coloured gold bracelet.

Police Constable Jim Perks, of Christchurch police, said: “This was a despicable crime against an elderly victim who feels violated, particularly as it happened at this time of the year.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area between the relevant time period to contact me on 101.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have been offered any of the items described in suspicious circumstances.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting incident number 6:371 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
