ONE hardy Cherries fan is set to brave the terraces this month in nothing more than his swimming trunks and goggles.

Clive Allen will be joining forces with Everton fan and charity fundraiser Mick Cullen - or Speedo Mick as he's come to be known - when the Merseyside club plays AFCB at the Vitality Stadium at the end of November.

Speedo Mick has become a huge social media hit, featuring in hundreds of selfies, appearing on local news bulletins and even Sky Sports and Match of the Day.

The 50-year-old started his fundraising effort last summer after completing a cross-Channel charity swim. To date, he's raised more than £5,000 for Liverpool's Woodlands Hospice

Now Clive - or Speedo Clive as he's sure to become known locally - wants to do his bit for the cause.

Cherries fan Clive, of Bournemouth, told the Daily Echo: "I'd never heard about Speedo Mick until last Sunday morning when a mate texted me while I was still asleep.

"He said 'have you seen Match of the Day because there's a fellah from Everton on there called Speedo Mick in swimming trunks and a hat. That's the sort of thing you'd do'. It woke me up.

"I just looked at it and laughed, then a mate of mine put on a post about Speedo Mick on one of the Bournemouth websites, and I'd been thinking about it all day, so I said 'yeah, go on then, I'll do it against Everton'.

"Within an hour another friend had set up a link to Mick's website donation page and we were off and running.

"I'll be meeting Mick in the morning and walking to the game with him - I'll be in my trunks all day."

AFC Bournemouth entertain Everton at home on Saturday, November 28.
