A BOURNEMOUTH-based laundry company is celebrating after receiving the royal seal of approval.

Anthony A. Barker Ltd, which is better known as the Barker Group, has been awarded a Royal Warrant for supplying a high quality laundry service to the family home of His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales.

The firm, which has branches in Bournemouth town centre, Ferndown, Boscombe, Sherborne and Parkstone, is one of just 160 companies across the globe to receive the special accolade, which aims to demonstrate excellence and quality.

It is granted to individuals or companies which have supplied goods or services for more than five years to the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Prince of Wales.

Matthew Barker, managing director and owner of the Barker Group since 2000, said: "It is a great honour to be awarded this accolade, which is testament to the quality of workmanship and dedication of all my staff.

"We are blessed with loyal employees and customers who should all enjoy the accreditation that this Royal Warrant represents."

The Barker Group has supplied high quality laundry services to Highgrove House, among other royal residences, for a number of years and the company continues to grow its range and services throughout southern England.

It offers a range of bespoke traditional laundry and dry cleaning service to households throughout southern England and greater London from its base in Bournemouth.

Barker Laundry is now the largest domestic laundry company in the UK, supplying bespoke laundry services for bed linen and table linen in the south as well as specialist starched dress wear services to a worldwide market.
