AFTER spending a week trying to decipher Susan Chapman’s ‘eruptions’ (September 22), I am none the wiser.

Presumably, she has role models in the Pope and David Attenborough and Denmark no longer experiences climate change. Quite astonishing. Also, it will not be long before India, China and the USA also will not experience climate change. Oh really?

English Nature recently stated that average global temperatures were warmer 2,000 years ago and that there has been no sustained increase in global temperatures for the last 19 years – fact!

In order to deal with the atmospheric imbalance as far as carbon is concerned, the United Nations, the Pope, David Attenborough, Susan Chapman, et al. should be concentrating on a massive re-planting of trees across those areas where forests have been removed wholesale.

Flora utilise carbon in their growth and oxygen is a waste by-product; this is why some scientists have suggested that carbon could be fixed by sea algae in the depths of the oceans.

During the industrial revolution, no mention of global warming or climate change was made, despite the massive use of coal and oil. The facts and the evidence show us that there has always been climate change.
