POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries in a crash.
All emergency services were called to the A326 near Holbury Roundabout, Hampshire at 5.17pm after a white Ford Transit was in collision with a blue Yamaha motorbike opposite Old School Close.
The motorbike rider, a 25-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries, which police have described as life-threatening.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “The driver of the Transit, a 33-year-old man, was not injured. He is currently speaking with police officers investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“The road is currently cordoned off while a forensic scene examination takes place. It is likely to remain closed for the next few hours, and a diversion through the nearby industrial estate is signed.”
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting Operation Free.
