A RINGWOOD residential home has received a splash of colour following what is dubbed to be the world's most colourful 5k.

Foxes Moon Care Home, which is based on Ringwood Road in St Ives, has been brightened up with a mural painted on the walls as part of the Run or Dye Say Thank you with Colour initiative.

It was one of four recipients selected from nearly 150 applicants for the gift of colour following the 5k event which was held in Kings Park in Bournemouth on July 11.

Chantelle Turner from Foxes Moon Care Home said: "We were delighted to have been chosen to be part of the campaign.

"The mural in the lounge area of the care home has provided a brilliant splash of colour which contributes to the development of the residents. Our new painting has been a fantastic boost to the residents with the mural being a great talking point for everyone."

The Run or Dye Say Thank you with Colour initiative aims to celebrate the work that societies, charities, schools and clubs do around the UK by bringing an array of colour to places which need it most.

Dan Lipman, marketing director at Run or Dye, said: "We’re delighted to be able to give a little something back to all the great causes around the UK which help others.

"These are groups which are generously helping their local communities, fulfilling the same Run or Dye core message of how spreading colour and kindness can improve lives."

He added that Say Thank You With Colour aims to spread some of the happiness and celebration of life in full colour from the incredible events to the communities visited.

Inspired by the ancient Hindu festival of Holi, also known as the ‘Festival of Colours’, Run or Dye gives runners, joggers and walkers the opportunity to experience and celebrate in full colour the thrill of the festival.
