A MAN was rescued from a well in the New Forest this evening.
Crews from Hampshire and Dorset fire and rescue services were sent to the incident at Little Linford Inclosure, Linford, at around 5.50pm, as well as the ambulance service.
Police officers also attended the scene to cordon off the area, and teams from the Urban Search and Rescue unit brought special equipment to carry out the rescue.
The man, aged in his 60s, fell around 30 feet into water, and fire service personnel first lowered a life belt to keep him afloat.
Crews used a rope pack harness to raise the victim to the surface.
A spokesman for the South Central Ambulance Service said: "A male believed to be in his 60s was treated at the scene.
"He was conveyed to Southampton General Hospital with a suspected shoulder injury."
The incident was resolved by 7.30pm.
