It's been a busy weekend in Dorset. If you missed it because you were away, working or just busy having fun, here's what happened. 

1. On Friday night, a flashmob in Bournemouth Square heralded the start of Bourne Free weekend. Singers performed hits from Grease, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Mamma Mia before the public were invited to join in with the dancing. See the video here

2. For the second Friday in a row there was a storm in Bournemouth. It may not have been as intense as the previous week but these pictures are still pretty dramatic.

3. Earlier on Friday night, a homeowner was walking through his recently bought hosue when he narrowly escaped injury after a car crashed into his front room.

4. On Saturday morning, around 3,000 people took part in Run or Dye at Kings Park to raise money for Julia's House children's hospice and Help for Heroes. Participants were pelted with eco-friendly, plant-based powdered dye as they made their way around the 5k course. See lots more pictures here

5. The Bourne Free parade brought the town centre to a standstill on Saturday as it made its way from East Cliff along Westover Road before ending at The Triangle. See lots more pictures here

6. More than 2,000 people flocked to the fourth annual Upton and Lytchett Minster Carnival which included a colourful procession and a host of live entertainment. See lots more pictures here

7. More than 50 bands performed at the 26th annual Swanage Jazz Festival, which featured a traditional brass band parade on Saturday. See lots more pictures here

7. The eighth annual Asahi British Beach Polo Championships took place in Sandbanks with the likes of Jodie Kidd and Debra Stephenson turning out for the glamorous event.

9. Over in Weymouth, thousands of seafood fans headed to the Pommery Dorset Seafood festival

10. The New Forest village of Sway held a Back To The Future themed procession for its annual carnival.

11. On Saturday a man was airflifted to hospital after the inflatable yoga ball he was using burst during an exercise class on the beach.

12. Some interesting cloud formations got readers talking on Saturday evening. Did you spot these? According to the Met Office, these Mammatus clouds are usually formed in association with large cumulonimbus clouds, particular when these are forming large thunderstorms.

13. It may have been raining on Sunday but that didn't stop the annual Dreamboats race in Wimborne. See all the pictures here

14. Hundreds attended the Wareham Carnival parade which had a ‘Wild West’ theme this year. The procession gathered at the town’s Saxon Roundabout before winding its way to Wareham Quay, where a fun day event took place, with live entertainment, into the evening. See more pictures here

15. Twenty-five firefighters were called to Sandy Balls after a chlorine leak left a man overcome by fumes

16. Finally, wacky races came to the New Forest for the sixth annual New Milton Pedal Car Grand Prix.
