DETECTIVES investigating a sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in Bournemouth have released an e-fit of the suspect.

The shocking attack happened at around 8pm on Monday in Cuckoo Woods, Kinson.

An 11-year-old girl was walking home alone when she was approached by a man who inappropriately touched her. The man ran off when the victim’s phone rang.

The man is described as approximately 20 to 30 years old, about 5ft 8ins tall and of skinny build.

Police described him as having dark olive skin, short black gelled hair over to one side and stubble. He wore a navy blue Nike T-shirt with the slogan ‘Just Do It’ on the chest, black tracksuit bottoms and white Adidas trainers.

Detective Inspector Neil Phillips, of Dorset’s Child Abuse Investigation Team, said: “I am now in a position to release an e-fit of the suspect.

“We now believe a man matching the description may have been hanging around an alleyway in the area of Brook Road about 2.30pm on the day of the incident.

“I am urging the public to come forward with any information, however insignificant it may seem, as it could lead to us identifying this man.

“Did you see anyone acting suspiciously earlier in the day around this area? Does the e-fit and description look like someone you know who could have been in the area at the time of the offence? If so, please call us in confidence on 101 and you could help us to apprehend this offender.”

Officers are conducting additional patrols in the area to reassure members of the public.

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting incident number 22:405. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111, where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
