FIRE engines from Poole, Westbourne and Redhill Park were mobilised to attend a heath fire at Bourne Bottom, to the rear of St Aldhelm's Academy, at around 3.30pm today.
Crews from Poole and Redhill were initially called but support was requested when the extent of the fire became known.
The blaze, which covered an area of around 30x40m, was extinguished using two hose reel jets and beaters. It was dealt with by 4pm.
It is thought that the fire was started deliberately and police were called to the scene to investigate.
