A MAN is in a critical condition after he was crushed by cows as he was walking his dog near Dorchester.

Dorset Police received a report that a man had been crushed by cows on the Warmwell Road in Crossways shortly after 9pm on Saturday night.

The man had been walking his dog down the road when he was crushed.

The police helicopter was launched to try and find the man as an exact location had not been given, and after a short search the helicopter found the man shortly after near a field adjacent to the road.

South Western Ambulance Service was also called to the incident, but due to the man’s location, he could not be reached by paramedics.

The helicopter landed and airlifted the man to Dorset County Hospital as he had suffered serious injuries and was in a critical condition.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said the man was still in hospital in a critical condition as the Echo went to press.
